Company

I floated on the stock market upon my friend's advice
I can talk about the basic facts, but I can't reveal the price

I'll be the first to admit I get tired sometimes
But the benifits outweigh the costs
When I'm happy as Larry my index climbs
And when I'm sad that it runs at a loss
And nobody knows
Nobody knows when to quit

I sold myself to a company for a fairly heavy sum
I kept half back for the kids one day and gave the other half to my mum

I'll be the first to admit I get tired sometimes
But the benifits outweigh the costs
I've gotta keep all the investors amused
With a smile on my face for the boss
'Cos nobody knows
Nobody knows when to quit

Yeah, it's all quiet on my west and front
If you want a piece of me, try the east of me
I don't think this was such a good idea

I sold myself to a retail chain with a branch in every town
But the bubble's burst with a turn for the worst, and now they've shut me down

I'll be the first to admit I get tired sometimes
But the benifits outweigh the costs
I'm happiest when my index climbs
And I'm sad when I run at a loss
I'll be the first to admit I get tired sometimes
But the benifits outweigh the costs
I've gotta keep all the investors amused
With a smile on my face for the boss
And nobody knows
Nobody knows when to quit
